Finally Canadian Curricular Content Adapted for ALL!
Bridges is proud to announce the arrival of Bridges’ Adapted Curriculum Units; levelled books and activities
directly linked to Canadian primary curricula. An ideal tool for teachers with students at different literacy
abilities in their classroom, whatever the challenge: LD, ELL/ESL or just struggling.
Each package comes with 4 colour printed books of 12+ pages, with the same information presented with
different levels of support: (see picture above) text, text and symbol, supported text with symbols to represent
only key concepts and simplified text, with symbol support. Canadian specific symbols were created by
Widgit exclusively for Bridges for words like “harvesting”, “Upper Canada”, and “Maple Syrup”.
Colour vocabulary cards and a CD with curriculum based activities (see overleaf) is also included.
Careful thought went into the creation of the units by a team of professionals that included teachers, speech
language pathologist and occupational therapists with years of classroom experience supporting
students with special needs.

Each theme also comes with (or can be purchased separately) with a cross curriculum pack. These packs
have one additional symbol supported book with science and math worksheets.

All Units come with a CD packed with materials in easy to print .pdf (Portable Document
File format ) files or in Communicate: In Print files that the teacher is licensed
to print in unlimited quantities for use in their classrooms.

♦ A Teacher’s Manual packed with ideas on how to make the most use of the materials.
