educATe is Bridges' web-based, Canadian AT support service. educATe was built to tap the unrealized potential of AT for individual student achievement, as well as whole class instruction.
Through educATe, access on-demand web-based training and support related to a variety of AT software, from Kurzweil to Boardmaker and more. Learn to help your child with reading and writing, using their Assistive Technology!
educATe Family is an online course with a series of short video lessons. Our mission? To give parents strategies to help their child with reading and writing, right away! Video lessons can be accessed whenever, wherever! Parents can take the course at their own pace.
The educATe Family lessons can be applied to whatever tech tools a child uses to learn, on any device!
With educATe Family, parents will have access to all the video lessons in our Reading and Writing Modules. These are the 2 main topics of the course. In each module, or topic, we teach the basic theory of reading and writing (how does reading work?
What kind of thought process happens when we write?), and then we build on that with strategies parents can use with their child. We examine how different technology tools will support each strategy, and help children in reading and writing to
learn!
Your students are depending on your ability to integrate assistive technology into your instruction so they can be successful learners in a 21st Century Classroom. educATe Classroom will get you started in learning new skills or expanding on existing
ones.
