MEville to WEville is a research-proven, multi-year curriculum that was recently updated to be age-appropriate for students with moderate to severe disabilities in grades 1-12. It was specifically developed for students with disabilities who have difficulties learning to read and write through traditional instructional methods. Designed to build a classroom community that promotes a sense of belonging, each unit offers students a new and different perspective on themselves, their families and their school.
The Don Johnston MEville to WEville package includes eight sets of Start-to-Finish Literacy Starters (24 accessible books), a Literacy Starters video-delivered training workshop by Dr. Karen Erickson, and accompanying comprehension and phonics lessons.
MEville to WEville facilitates literacy learning success by teaching within the context of familiar themes and building upon skills and concepts introduced in the previous unit. Lessons include step-by-step instructions for integrating reading, writing, augmentative communication, and listening skills into daily instructional activities that can be taught in one session or spread across several sessions.

This Partnership brings together the power of Ablenet's scientifically-supported early literacy and communication curriculum with Meville to WEville lessons that leverage the strength of Don Johnson Inc.'s research-based Start-to-Finish Literacy Starters content.
In-Context Life Lessons
As students construct a classroom community, they gain a sense of belonging and new perspectives on themselves, their families, and their school. The curriculum supports the development of character education and fosters social skills, such as turn-taking, responsibility, and respect, as students understand having a valued role, acknowledging others, and expressing preferences.
Extending MEville to WEville Lessons
Extending MEville to WEville systematically integrates reading, writing, speaking, augmentative communicating and listening into lessons and activities designed to build a classroom community that promotes a sense of belonging.
Start-to-Finish Literacy Starters
The MEville to WEville with Literacy Starters Program includes three sets of books written specifically for the MEville to WEville curriculum. An additional five sets of Literacy Starters are included to give students opportunities to practice reading. Each switch-accessible book set includes three book types. Each type plays a unique and important role in literacy development.

Most of our items are shipped by Canpar, which takes 3-5 business days to reach the customer. Where service is not available, or due to the special requirements of the product, we will also use UPS, Puralator or Canada Post. Please allow 10-15 days for order processing.

Shipping is calculated individually depending on the weight and size of the item. This will be calculated automatically upon checkout and will be included in the total price when you go to the checkout.

Do you offer a money back guarantee?
We offer a 21-day money-back guarantee unless otherwise noted. Products must be returned in a resalable condition as determined by Bridges. Returns are subject to a 20 percent restocking fee after 21-days. Many of our manufacturers offer additional limited warranties of longer durations on their products. Returns will no longer be accepted after a period of 90 days. To return a product you need to get a Return Authorization (R.A.) number from us. Please note, Bridges will not accept returns without an R.A. number. The customer is responsible for shipping costs of returned products.
