A contemporary language arts curriculum for transition age students with a Student Reader, corresponding Teacher's Guide with PDF and Connections in the Workplace Software that reads the stories aloud to students. Connections in the Workplace Introductory Kit includes one Student Reader, one Teachers Guide, a PDF CD, and the multimedia software on a Win/Mac CD. The PDF CD includes a printable PDF file with a Classroom License that lets you print stories for each student.
Connections in the Workplace Classroom Kit includes eight Student Readers, one Teacher's Guide, the PDF CD, and the multimedia software.
The Connections in the Workplace Student Reader includes 35 stories, featuring Maria and Jerome as the primary protagonists. Each four page story has a student activity page and vocabulary exercises. Topics covered include: Cell phone etiquette, avoiding job responsibilities, becoming a trustworthy employee and appropriate social behavior.

The corresponding Teacher's Guide provides several additional worksheets per story that assess comprehension, vocabulary and the understanding of the underlying social skills. Use the PDF on the CD for easy printouts of activity pages and full-color stories.

Authored by June Stride and illustrated by Anthony Zammit. Student Reader is covered spiralbound book in full-color, 216 pages. Included in the kits is a covered spiralbound Teacher's Guide, black and white, 155 pages, plus Win/Mac CD with printable PDF, 2007.

The Connections in the Workplace Software uses Attainment's software which reads the stories aloud to students with professional narration. Text is highlighted word by word, line by line or by complete sentence. Graphics are plentiful, contemporary and age-appropriate. A test at the end of each story provides speech support and an optional hint feature that directs students to the page that addresses each question. A unified management system helps the teacher quickly review or print out student performance data. Teachers can determine reading lists and set options that best suit each student's learning style. Choose word-by-word or natural speech narration, select the text highlighting approach and assign tests.

 

 

Technical Support and Specifications

Software is compatible with Windows 7, Windows 8 and Mac OS 10.7 or higher; accessible with mouse, touch screen, and single or double switches.

Save money on multiple copies with the 5-Pack or 20-Pack option. Disk-based software includes a Three Computer License. Available in 1, 5, and 20 packs. For example, a 5 pack can be loaded on 15 computers.

What shipping options are available?

Most of our items are shipped by Canpar, which takes 3-5 business days to reach the customer. Where service is not available, or due to the special requirements of the product, we will also use UPS, Puralator or Canada Post. Please allow 10-15 days for order processing.

Ordering multiple, heavy-weighted items? 

If our store can’t calculate your shipping costs during checkout, your order may fall outside weight, size, or destination restrictions, for online ordering.

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping is calculated individually depending on the weight and size of the item. This will be calculated automatically upon checkout and will be included in the total price when you go to the checkout.

How long does it take for me to receive my order?

Order processing time depends on availability of the product from the manufacturer, but typically products are shipped within 10-15 business days after the order is placed. See shipping options for the number of days it will take to reach you after it leaves our warehouse.

Do you ship internationally?

No, we currently sell our products and services only in Canada.

How can I track my order?

When the order is shipped out, you will receive an e-mail with a tracking number. If you do not receive this e-mail, please call 1-800-353-1107 (8:30am - 4:30pm EST) to receive your tracking number.

 

Returns

 

Do you offer a money back guarantee?

We offer a 21-day money-back guarantee unless otherwise noted. Products must be returned in a resalable condition as determined by Bridges. Returns are subject to a 20 percent restocking fee after 21-days. Many of our manufacturers offer additional limited warranties of longer durations on their products. Returns will no longer be accepted after a period of 90 days. Please call us at 1-800-353-1107 (8:30am - 4:30pm EST) or send an e-mail to info@bridges-canada.com for more information about manufacturer's warranties or returning your product.

Please note, customers cannot return software for a refund.  However, we do offer a store credit for the full amount if returned within 21 days. After 21 days a restocking fee may apply.

How do I return a product?

To return a product you need to get a Return Authorization (R.A.) number from us. Please call us at 1-800-353-1107 (8:30am - 4:30pm EST), e-mail us at info@bridges-canada.com or fax us at 905-542-7242 to get an R.A. number and further instructions. Please note, Bridges will not accept returns without an R.A. number. The customer is responsible for shipping costs of returned products.
