Equals is a new, age-neutral math curriculum for students with complex needs. Equals encompasses:
Unlike other curricula that focus solely on functional math (eg. money skills), Equals connects functional math to abstract ideas by basing each lesson in themes of home, community, and/or school. It comes complete with manipulatives, adapted tools, vocab cards, worksheets and other materials making it ideal for a contained classroom or resource room.
The program includes a content kit, a manipulative kit, and access to a Members Only Portal. Equals is an appropriate choice for students with cognitive disabilities, autism, and for English Language Learners (ELL).

It comes complete with manipulatives, adapted tools, vocab cards, worksheets and other materials making it ideal for a contained classroom or resource room.
Equals utilizes general education math methodologies including Concrete, Semi-concrete, and Abstract (CSA) instructional sequence. In addition, Equals connects manipulatives, concepts, real-world interaction, and multi-sensory experiences that enable all students to actively learn math and demonstrate significant, measurable progress.
Lesson Support Materials
Equals now includes two invaluable tools for educators online. The Members Only area has in pdf format all the posters, cards, letters home... virtually all the materials in the Equals kit as reproducibles. That means that you can easily re-print any of the printed materials that are damaged or lost.
Also on the Members Only area are invaluable implementation resources for teachers including how to videos, archived webinars and more.
The Technology Lesson Center is ideal for whole class teaching. All the posters, cards, games, workmats are instantly available. Teachers can take notes, focus attention on a specific area with the spotlighting tool even involve switch users in games.
NOTE: the Equals Canadian alignment documents are in Equals Math Lesson order. You can sort by grade level if you prefer once you download the document to your computer.
