Smart Prompt: AI-Powered Tools in Grid 3

Grid 3 has introduced Smart Prompt, an AI powered Grid command designed to enhance communication by correcting spelling and grammar, expanding common abbreviations, and filling in missing letters and spaces.

Smart Prompt includes a variety of tools on a dedicated AI toolbar.  Users have full control of the prompts that control each tool.  With these features, users can easily expand and adjust text, translate sentences, find similar words or even create their own prompt! Smart Prompt can be used to create custom functions in any Grid 3 grid set and is available in an AI beta version of Text Talker.

Smart Prompt commands are applied after a message has been typed, rather than requiring changes during entry. This allows a message to be composed without interruption and then reviewed as a whole before it is sent, which can result in fewer pauses caused by mid‑sentence corrections.

The way a prompt is written can have a big impact on how useful the response is. Adjusting the wording can help produce better or more personalized results.

Here are a few simple tips to keep in mind:

  • Be clear and specific: State exactly what is needed.
  • Add context: Explain the situation or goal.
  • Set guidelines: Include tone, length, or any limits.
  • Give examples: Show the desired style or type of response.
  • Test and adjust: Run the prompt multiple times and refine as needed.

Users can choose when to apply Smart Prompt and can undo changes if they prefer to return to their original text.

Placement of Smart Prompt is customisable, allowing it to be added to any grid set and positioned according to individual preferences.

Smart Prompt is optional and requires users to opt in to Online AI Tools within Grid settings. It is available for users running Grid version 97 or above and can be added to new or existing grid sets.
